Scavenger Hunt

My partner and I did not finish all of our picture. We still have like 5 to take. We are planning on taking them all at school though. My favorite photo so far is this one. 

Pictures

I dont know alot about photo editing, i never really have done it. When i take pictures its usally of like one of my teams or something like that. I dont really post pictures on social media unless its after my baseball or soccer team just won something. I dont have a background on photo editing since ive never done it and i dont really have an interest in it.

Digital Age

The thing I love most about the digital age we live in is how easy it is to communicate with people. Today's technology has made it so easy to communicate with people through a lot of different sources like social media apps and direct message apps. There is stuff I don't like about this though and that is the fact that the kids growing up in this age aren't going to know how to have a face to face conversation with people. Even the people my age have troubles having a real face to face conversation. Its like people are scared to say things face to face but they have no problem saying it to them over text and that bothers me. Technology is a great thing in my life though. It allows me to stay in touch with family out of state and also it keeps up to date with the things going on around the world.

Reflection

I though that this project was pretty easy. I didn't think it was hard working across the room because the tools we used to talk with were really easy to use. I dont think working like this on a daily basis would be hard, I think it would be fun. This project taught me how to put a presentation together without talking to them.

Long Weekend

This weekend was really fun and well spent. My whole moms family came into town. My grandparents live in South Dakota and they came in on Wednesday has well as my aunt uncle who live in Nebraska and my other aunt and uncle live in Kansas and came over for dinner my aunt uncle from Denver also came over. My other aunt who lives in Nashville and they came in on thanksgiving. My house was packed with people! We had 18 people staying at my house! On thanksgiving day my mom and grandma cooked all day and the boy worked around the house and played football in the morning. The dinner and desert was great and I really enjoyed it. I did not go black Friday shopping, I never have been and don't plan on going. That many people out shopping just doesn't sound fun to me. On Saturday the boys went over to my uncles and we helped build a new deck in his back yard. Once we got home we had our family Christmas because my grandparents who live in South Dakota just bought a new house in Phoenix Arizona and are staying there over the winter so we couldn't have a family Christmas so we did it this weekend. I got a lot of cloths and new baseball stuff. The whole family left Sunday to go back home and i spent the whole day cleaning up the house that was left a mess.

Royals Game 5

Last night my family had our good family friends over to watch the game. Both our families watched the game until about the 6th inning then they left. Both my parents and all my brothers and sister went to bed but I stayed up to watch. In the 12th inning I  went to my parents room to finish watching it with my sister. Right before the Royals won my mom went and woke up the rest of my family to watch it. Once they won we went crazy and went outside lit fireworks off with my neighbors.

An inforgraphic is a graph like picture that has a lot of other smaller pictures and graphs in it that display information on a certain topic. The purpose of an inforgraphic is to give a viewer has many facts as possible in a small picture. The best information shown on these are usually stats of something. An inforgraphic sends information to a viewer in a more fun way then just facts. I can use an infographic in class to show how poverty affects the world and use pictures in it.

"Do Less With More Focus"

This quote to me means that when you are super focused it is going to seem like you are doing less work. When you are focused it takes you a lot longer to get something done then it would when you are focused. To me this quote is really accurate with my life, I feel like now that I think about it this me 100%. This in school would really work for me because I would get a lot more done but it wouldn't seem like I was doing so much because I was super focused.

5 Global Social Issues

1. Poverty
Poverty is people living in poor conditions and like not having enough money to live. I would be very interested in researching this project.
2. Education
I know that a lot of  kids who aren't getting the education. I wouldn't be very interested in doing this topic because it doesn't strike me has being interesting.
3. Pollution
I know that there is a lot of pollution in the ocean and in lakes. I also know they're a lot of fish and sea life dying due to this.
4.World Hunger
I know that there are a lot of people living around the world that don't have food to eat everyday and I think this is a major problem because you have to eat to be able to survive.
5. Abuse
I know that a lot of people around the world are getting abused by there "loved" ones and I think that it is a major problem and that it should not be tolerated.

Blog Post

I think that this picture is trying to tell us that the United States is lazy and that they don't care. I also think that it is trying to tell us that other countries are working and learning while the U.S. is slacking off. I disagree with this because not every kid in the United States is lazy and slacks off, there are kids and a lot of them who work really hard and study hard for school. I think from a teachers prospective they would think this picture is accurate because they probably think that all there students don't study and don't work hard. I think that this picture is stereotypical and even if you changed the picture up and had China or India being the ones slacking off it still wouldn't change my mind on this picture.

HOCO Weekend

The week leading up to homecoming I thought was really fun with the spirit week and the assembly. I also had a really fun time at dinner and taking pictures because I was with a lot of my friends. The dance it's self I thought was really boring. I was expecting it to be a lot more fun. I just thought the music was terrible and that everyone just kinda stood around and talked. The after party was decent, my group all went to an after party so I just went with them but from what I hear from other people some of the after parties were really fun. Over all I really was expecting more from the dance but I thought the after party and week leading up to homecoming was fun.

Homecoming

For homecoming weekend I am taking a girl named Reese who goes to a different school but she used to go to ours. I am going in a big group of friends and we are going to go to Lions Gate clubhouse for dinner and pictures. After we eat and go to the dance most of  my group is going to be going to Chase's house for an after party. I am going to leave the after party early and hangout with some people from the soccer team.

Ted Talk

I agree with this TED talk because when you think about it everyone today is constantly on there phones and always using the internet. When I think of this I can remember times where I was hanging out with friends and at times we wouldn't even be talking to each other we would just be texting or on social media. I also remember times where I was sitting next to one of my friends and he text me and we were texting while sitting next to each other. I think this generation and the generation following after us aren't going to be able to have a conversation with other people because they aren't going to know how to talk to people all they are going to be able to do is text. This TED talk really made me think on how much I text and how I am so fuccosed on my phone and also how sometimes I forget that texting and being on social media isn't all that important.

How to make a good PSA

Making a Psa is really easy and a really effective way to get a point across someones mind. They're are a few things that you need to have to make the psa really effective. The first thing is to make sure you have the 5 W's if you put that it in will give the audience alot of information. Another thing to add the a good psa is music. If you put in music and it flows with your topic it could have a big change in your audiences mind. What I mean by this is if you have a serious/sad topic don't put in super happy and energetic music it won't flow with your project. If you do these few things while making a PSA it will have a much larger impact on your audiences thoughts.

I agree to this article 100%. I think the author is spot on with what he is saying I feel like he explains the problem of teens perfectly. I also think that he is right when he says that teens need to give back. The community does enough for us teens and I think it is only right if we give back to the community.

10 years from today

10 years from today i will be out of college and I will be 25 years old. I don't know what job I will be at but right now I am thinking about working for my dad. My dad owns a mechanical contracting company and I want to take that company over some day.

My Labor Day Weekend

Over my 3 day weekend I went to the Lake of the Ozarks. I went with Nick and his family and then Clayton met us down there with his family. We went tubing, wake boarding, and jet skiing. We stayed at Tan Tar a and there was so much to do there. There was an indoor bowling alley an arcade and so much more. My labor day weekend was really fun and I can't wait to go back to the lake next summer.

Kids These Days

Kids these days don't understand what its like not to have a cellphone. Kids these days dont take the time to notice all the great things about life they are to busy texting and playing video games. I wish kids these days would take the time to sit down and talk to elders like me and listen to what life has a kid was like when I was a kid.

PSA

A PSA is a Public Service Announcement and they are used to show the importance of a topic. They are usually posted by the media and they are used to change the public's mind on a topic. A PSA I saw recently was about drinking and driving. When i see videos or PSA's like this they have a big impact on me because my family had a death due to drinking and driving 2 years ago.

Prezi Reflection

   I think that Prezi is much more easier to use than Power Point. I think that prezi has alot more tools and options you can use while making a presentation. I think if prezi had the tools power point had it would make it even better, what i mean by this is if it had an easier way to enter pictures and text into the prezi that would make it better. Overall i think prezi is a much better way to present a project.
